Our vision is to equip, organize and mobilize communities and cites to assemble together in prayer, lifting up those that are without Christ, our churches, neighbors, families and leaders in our communities. It is our prayer that all will grasp how deep and immeasurable the impact of "remaining steadfast in prayer" is to a lost and hurting world. That through prayer and love for others that restoration would come about in our communities and cities.
CityGatesPray was birthed in January of 2009, when a group of intercessors from Sacramento, assembled together to pray about the plight of the city. At that time our city and surrounding cities were suffering from the real estate collapse which led to job loss, state furloughs and an economic meltdown. We wanted to make a difference for our city by encouraging it’s people to “remain steadfast in prayer”. The group decided to “take to the streets” by way of prayer walking and inviting as many churches as possible to join in. That year intercessors from 19 churches around the city joined in prayer for our cities and communities. Today in its third year, CityGatesPray is a thriving ministry whose sole purpose is to unite cities and communities together through the church. Our belief is that through steandfast prayer, reconciliation for the lost and restoration of our cities and communities can be manifest.
