David was raised in Seattle, Washington. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public Policy from Pomona College in 1991. Following graduation, he served in youth and college ministry in Young Life, at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle and at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, Colorado. Upon receiving his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Seminary in 1998, David began a 16-year ministry in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There he served as the Director of The House: University Ministries of Chattanooga and as Assistant Pastor at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church. In 2014 David received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He joined the Fremont staff as Senior Pastor in August of 2014. David and his wife Kelsey have six children: Hudson, McLean, Crew, Justice, Simone and Dax. dburke@fremontpres.org
